Through a partnership that now spans to over 30 Junior Achievement, opens in a new window chapters across four continents, Delta has helped ignite an educational spark in students through work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy programs. In Buenos Aires, Minneapolis-St. Paul and New York, for example, high school students spend time “job shadowing” Delta employees to learn what it takes to succeed in the business world. In Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, students learn financial literacy and budgeting skills through Junior Achievement’s Finance Park programs.

Since 2013, Delta has sponsored nearly 1 600 students to attend the National Flight Academy, opens in a new window, an interactive immersive learning adventure aboard AMBITION, a state-of-the-art, 100,000+ square foot virtual aircraft carrier. In this six-day program, 7-12 graders build STEM and communication skills while experiencing various aspects of aviation from creating flight plans to learning about aircraft maintenance careers, all via ultramodern technology. They eat on mess decks, sleep in berthing quarters and execute humanitarian missions via 42 networked flight simulators. As official airline of the National Flight Academy, Delta continues to champion youth and inspire them to take a greater interest in science, technology, engineering and math.
